Synopsis: Up until recently I never saw the benefit of looking back or revisiting a “bad” memory. When I first begun on my journey of healing and self-discovery I would hear over and over again “stay in the now”or “stay present!”. Yet, something kept pulling me back to my past. How could I stay in the now when my past was clearly affecting my present? I don’t claim to have any insider information on healing. We all have the power to tap into source and our higher selves at any time. I’m sure many people try to sell their books on the basis of being an “average person.” However, in part, this is what connects me largely with my readers. Also, this project isn’t about selling. The Root of It is a serviceable piece of literary work that through the theme of connectedness, authenticity, honesty, perspective, and personal experience can highlights our commonalties and our differences. I hope my notes, thoughts, poems, and short prose on my journey to the root of it inspires you to explore the roots of you.
